Researchers
Research occupies a prominent place among the priorities and
accomplishments of the School’s students, residents, and
faculty, many of whom are preeminent in their fields.
The School of Dental Medicine consistently ranks as one of
the top United States dental facilities in number of research
projects funded by the National Institutes of Health. Active
research grants to the School exceed $6 million annually.
Research support is funded through the NIDR, other institutes of
the National Institutes of Health, and nonfederal sources.
Extensive laboratory facilities are available in each
department of the School of Dental Medicine and support
facilities include a seven-floor
Center for Comparative Medicine
(CCM).
