College Summer Fellowship Program

Qualifications
This program is designed for undergraduate college students who are interested in careers in medicine, dental medicine, or a combined degree (M.D./Ph.D. or D.M.D./Ph.D.).
Students who are completing their junior year are given preference.
Applicants should have completed some college coursework in biology and chemistry (preferably through organic chemistry). Previous laboratory experience is desirable. A variety of projects are
available. Applicants must submit an application, transcript, standardized test scores, and two letters of recommendation. A $30 application fee should also be submitted. Please see the

Fellowship Description
The purpose of the program is to provide a research enrichment experience and some exposure to clinical medicine or dental medicine. Once a student is accepted to the program
and has selected and found a faculty sponsor in which to do research, the student will meet with the faculty sponsor in June and develop a research protocol and suitable project description. The student will commit
approximately 30+ hours per week for the project and will work with the faculty sponsor or his/her designates. Approximately 8 to 10 hours per week have been set aside for clinical experientials and other enrichments. A $2,500 to $3,000 salary is provided. Assistance in locating housing is also provided. |
