Science Teacher Summer Fellowship Program

The program:

• Is for elementary, middle/junior high and high school science teachers.
• Is open to Connecticut science teachers who teach life sciences to a significant number of minority and educationally disadvantaged students.
• Allows teachers to participate in a basic research project.
• Is a six-week summer program.
• Enables participants to update their knowledge and skills in modern research tools and techniques.
• Provides a listing of faculty sponsors and their project descriptions who are interested in participating in the program.
• Requires that the teacher participant meets with the faculty member prior to the start of the program to develop a research protocol.
• Participants commit approximately 30 hours per week to the project and work with the faculty sponsor or their designees.
• Provides a stipend.
