Juniors Doctors Academy
The program:
Is
for 11th grade students.
- Is a six-week Summer Program and a 20-week Saturday Academy.
- Is for students interested in medicine, dental medicine or biomedical research.
- Provides students with a review of Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, language arts and proven test-taking strategies to increase SAT scores.
- Is held at the University of Connecticut Greater Hartford Campus.
- Provides transportation within Hartford only.
- Enables students to participate in the High School Mini Medical/Dental School Program during the following academic year.
- Provides students with a stipend.
Parent/Guardian Orientation Workshops are held for all students participating in the Juniors Doctors Academy.
Important Dates
- April 30, 2010: Postmark date for all applications
- June 21, 2010: First day of program
- July 30, 2010: Last day of program
All Applicants Should:
1. Be a junior in high school for the 2008-2009 academic year.
2. Have a 'B-' average or better.
3. Submit an essay.
4. Provide two letters of recommendation from a Science or English teacher or guidance counselor.
5. Have an official transcript submitted from each high school attended.
6. Submit a completed application form (Word doc) available from your counselor, this web site, or by
email.
