The faculty of the School of Dental Medicine is composed of approximately ninety full-time clinicians and basic scientists who impart their clinical and scientific expertise to the
education of pre- and postdoctoral students and the dental community. All faculty also are engaged in scholarly activities in a variety of basic science, behavioral science, and
clinical research areas. According to a recent report by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation the "quality of the faculty was exceptional as was their
devotion to teaching, research, service and patient care goals of the school." Furthermore, the Commission was "impressed by the faculty's commitment to the school and their dedication
to the preeminence of the predoctoral program."
The faculty are also the recipients of numerous awards for their clinical and research expertise. These accomplishments make the faculty of the School of Dental Medicine sought
after as consultants to national and international organizations, agencies and advisory bodies. In a typical year, the faculty of the School of Dental Medicine publishes over 150
papers and book chapters, and 130 abstracts of their work are presented at national and international meetings and congresses. |
